Academic Integrity

The reason that we are taught about academic Integrity is because many people come to ASU from different types of learning environments. Every student that is attending ASU has already agreed to the academic code of conduct. There are many different types of academic dishonesty for example but not limited to using someone else's work, using sources your professor didn't allow, or not citing your sources correctly. I believe that students who act academically dishonest are just cheating themselves. It may get them the grade, but what really matters is if you know the material. There are many reasons students should be academically honest and my favorite one is that if I know I do all my own work, I will value my degree way more. Another reason is that you will gain respect from your teachers. If you are caught being academically dishonest, the consequences are threatening to you being able to attend ASU being the worst. If your lucky you will receive a failing grade for the assignment or even the course. To avoid being academically dishonest make sure you check with your professor about his/her policies. So just be smart and do your own work because "Integrity is what we do, what we say, and what we say we do"(Don Galer). Never try to cheat the system because chances are you won't beat it.
